Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling would like you to know it’s the era of Barbie, if the prolific marketing and all-pink media takeover is any indication ahead of the upcoming July 21 premiere of Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie.” At these 12 pink-perfect, Barbie-inspired spots, you, too, can walk the metaphoric pink carpet on your own press tour around Miami in preparation for the hottest flick of the summer. Bust out the Barbiecore in your boldest, brightest pinks and snap some shots to pre-game Barbie’s entry to the big screen. After all, it’s a Barbie world, and we’re all just living in it.
The Goodtime Hotel by Pharrell and David Grutman serves up the splashiest pinks from day to night. Lounge by the swim club outfitted in pink-trimmed cabanas and a pink-and-white striped pool, and be sure to order a spread of mouthwatering Mediterranean bites for snacking by the pink chaises in a full-on Barbie paradise.
Rosa Sky says “let’s go party” in a world of pink dreams and magical moments. The Brickell rooftop lounge already glows in moody shades of pink on a regular night, but this premiere weekend is extra special as the space turns into a Barbie wonderland with tons of Barbie-inspired fun. Barbie attire is strongly encouraged.
The “no flocks given” Miami-inspired cocktail bar is practically made for Barbie and co., with a color palette of pinks, purples and yellows and flirty cocktails in flamingo-shaped glasses.
Big Pink is as pink as its name suggests. The pink diner institution churns out classic comfort food until late and boasts a retro Big Pink TV Dinner special on a stainless steel tray. Fun fact—both the TV Dinner and Barbie were born around the same time back in the ‘50s.
Pink Taco is the place to be when it comes to living out your wildest Barbie fantasy. The menu is filled with pink treats as the name indicates—the signature pink corn taco shells envelope a delightful combo of shredded chicken, jack cheese, romaine, avocado, pickled red onions and avocado salsa. For Barbies who brunch, the pink churro pancake stack tastes as magical as it looks.
The bright pink building adorned with butterflies in Wynwood belongs to rooftop restaurant ASTRA, where DJ programming and Mediterranean cuisine await. Think of ASTRA’s exterior as your own life-sized Barbie dollhouse.
Real ones know that the Sexy Fish women’s bathroom is where it’s at for striking pink-themed photo ops. Enter an underwater universe decked out in crystallized pink and stocked with ample mirrors to perfect that Barbie-approved mirror selfie.
We’re convinced that Sofia has been crafted by the Barbie gods in arguably the most aesthetic neighborhood of Miami—the Design District. Both the exterior and interior are drenched in hues of pink in a way that’s tasteful and dreamy, and the Italian cuisine is just as decadent.
Another Design District hotspot, Swan is poshly pink and reminiscent of a fairytale. Every corner of the space is a Barbie lover’s dream, down to the pink-soaked wraparound bar and vintage posters of sketched silhouettes. Continue living out your fashionable fantasy at Bar Bevy upstairs.
A natural wine bar named after the queen Margot Robbie herself? Yes, please. Well, not actually, but it seems pretty fitting that this pink-and-yellow-toned wine bar by the Bar Lab team in Downtown would be a Barbie hotspot. Wine and cheese has never been so fantastic.
This Miami-based restaurant and cocktail bar operating from the Miami River Inn by Selina is a fabulous destination for pink vibes head-to-toe. You’ll be transported to old-school Miami in the best way amid the tropical patio set-up and vintage décor.
You’ve heard the hype—Sugar Factory has reopened at the historic Firestone Garage and continues to wow with its pink-washed interiors and pink smoking goblets. The pink floral walls make for the perfect Barbie photoshoot while you sip on your goblets. Don’t forget about the Pink Unicorn hot chocolate!
