Expanding on the success of its exclusive private suites, PS at LAX opens The Salon, an exclusive, socially minded airport lounge that’s redefining what it means to travel in style.

When PS (reserveps.com) opened at LAX in 2017, it offered what before was unthinkable: an exclusive terminal at the busy airport, filled with amenity-packed private suites and direct, suite-to-plane transfers. For a tony tab, travelers could avoid the hassle of typical airport travel, without needing to spring for a private jet. While especially perfect for families or groups seeking their own discreet, relaxing accommodations pre-and post-plane ride, PS wanted to create something especially for 21-andolder guests traveling solo or in small groups.

Enter The Salon at PS. Recently opened and located across from the private suites, the Cliff Fong-designed living room-like space looks and feels like a private social club. “The space itself feels nothing like an airport, and so all the feelings of being in an airport are nonexistent,” says co-CEO of PS Amina Belouizdad. “The experience is much more akin to that of a boutique hotel or private members club.” Adding to the experience is a curated art installation by Creative Art Partners.

Along with access to a California- Mediterranean-inspired menu by The h.wood Group, handcrafted cocktails and an outdoor garden, travelers can enjoy perks similar to what’s offered to suite guests, including expedited TSA screening on departure, customs and immigration processing on-site and direct-to-aircraft transportation across the airfield. (For an additional cost, PS Direct transports travelers directly from the airfield to their final destination.) And for those seeking a refreshing pick-me-up, there are spa showers available. “We also valet, store and detail your vehicle for you while you are on your travels,” notes Belouizdad.

Fortunately for all, there are plans to expand PS across the country. “There is no reason why PS can’t be in every major airport in the U.S. in a few years,” Belouizdad says. “The magic happens when we are able to deliver the PS experience on each end of your travels… and we can’t wait to do that!”
