The fundraiser is led by five-time James Beard Award Semi-Finalist Best Chef Southeast, José Mendín. All four Pubbelly Sushi locations – Aventura Mall, Brickell City Centre, Downtown Dadeland, and Miami Beach – are proud to participate in this beautiful initiative from June 1 to 30.
The restaurant's Passion Fruit Sangria ($16) will donate a portion of the proceeds to the organization, which has advocated for equal rights for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities since 1993. The cocktail combines Sauvignon Blanc, passion fruit foam, fresh lime juice, club soda, and seasonal fruits with Boba (Japanese candy). Each cocktail also includes a Pubbelly Sushi Pride sticker. The promotion will be available at all four Pubbelly Sushi locations in South Florida, including Aventura Mall, Brickell City Centre, Downtown Dadeland, and Miami Beach, from June 1st to June 30th.
"Pubbelly Sushi is honored to support Pride Month by partnering with this incredible and deserving organization that helps keep LBGTQ issues at the forefront of the community," says Andrea Petersen, Managing Partner of Pubbelly Sushi.
SAVE is South Florida's oldest organization dedicated to protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people from discrimination. This was made possible through grassroots action focused on political advocacy (working to promote local, state, and federal policy change by fostering community consensus), community outreach (changing hearts and minds by educating South Floridians about LGBTQ issues), and candidate endorsements (supporting political leaders committed to ending LGBTQ discrimination).
Pubbelly Sushi also donated a portion of the proceeds from the passion fruit-infused cocktail to SAVE last year, demonstrating the South Florida brand's dedication to the LGBTQ community. As part of its ethos, the restaurant recognizes the importance of making an impact from the ground up. It has been actively involved in local community-giving initiatives throughout the year, including Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), benefiting the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami (February), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (April), Lotus House (April), Mount Sinai (April), and Mount Sinai (April). Since September 2021, each Pubbelly Sushi location has been able to make monthly donations (up to $1,000) to various local and national charities.
"Pubbelly Sushi has established itself as a business that not only provides a remarkable dining experience but also as an inclusive leader in South Florida's restaurant scene. SAVE is proud to partner with Pubbelly Sushi to celebrate Pride month honoring the LGBTQ community," says Orlando Gonzales, MPA Executive Director of SAVE Foundation.
If you want to eat delicious food and enjoy some fantastic cocktails while supporting a restaurant involved in the community, Pubelly Sushi is a must-visit.
