Realty Revelry

| September 25, 2013 | Parties

The real estate party is officially back! By that, we mean the real estate party of yore before the “R” word (as in recession) limited these gatherings to sales centers. To announce Biscayne Beach, a 51-story high-rise that will boast Miami’s first beachfront club, Cervera Real Estate, Eastview Development and GTIS Partners welcomed about 200 guests to Terra Veritatis, the private estate of engineering mogul Billy Dean. There, they revealed one rather special guest: interior designer (and former Queer Eye for the Straight Guy co-host) Thom Filicia, whose decor skills have been tapped for the project. The dapper tastemaker was all smiles as he greeted guests and worked the room, revealing tidbits about the project. “I’m a big fan of Miami, where it is and where it’s going,” he said. “It’s like when you see a really beautiful young girl develop into a fabulous woman.” As guests, including Michael Capponi, Criselda and Jonathan Breene, Gingi Beltran and Thom Collins, made their way through the estate, they were treated to the usual shindig treats—cool drinks, hors d’oeuvres, catch-up gossip—and the not-so-usual, namely a volleyball game with models in barely-there bikinis and short shorts. “Now that’s a Miami party,” quipped Filicia. He can say that again. Photography by World Red Eye
