What does wellness mean to you? It’s different for everyone. But for Renee Parsons, the President and Executive Creative Director of PXG Apparel, it’s all about balance. Whether it’s staying hydrated out on the green, treating herself to nourishing skincare products or simply surrounding herself with positive energy, she has this wellness thing down pat. pxg.com/apparel
What does wellness mean to you?
Wellness is a dynamic process of change and growth. For me, it’s important to start my morning with some form of exercise. Pilates helps me stay energized throughout the day, but I find it equally as important to unwind with a drink in hand after an enjoyable round of golf with my friends. Wellness can be having a great day at work, collaborating with my team. It is all about finding your balance and what makes you feel good and empowered in the day-to-day.
What are the top products that are part of your wellness routine that you cannot live without?
In no specific order, I cannot live without water– Penta is definitely my personal favorite. My Nuface trinity facial toning device helps me maintain my skincare routine alongsidea daily sunscreen like the EltaMD SPF46 or Odacité’s entire line of products. But lately, I haven’t been able to live without my new go-to PXG Nylon bag; it conveniently stores all of my essentials while I’m out and about, or on the course.
What are your top wellness and self-care tips for people like yourself who are business leaders, but also want to live an active lifestyle?
Stay hydrated! Vega Sports powder helps me replenish when I’m feeling dehydrated and function all day whether I’m at home or traveling. I also recommend the Theragun Mini, which can not only relieve muscle soreness but support blood fl ow. This little device packs a punch and is an essential packing item for my business trips. Farm-to-table is the way to go when it comes to focusing on clean eating. you want to be able to know where your food comes from, the more local the better.
And my last piece of advice: surround yourself with great collaborators.
Wellness goes beyond how we treat our own bodies, but is also very much tied to our environment and everything around us. With that being said, can you tell us about PXG Apparel’s line of sustainable wear and why it was important for you to launch this collection?
Sustainability is a cornerstone of our PXG Apparel and accessories collections. Our team works diligently to source textiles that are not only environmentally friendly, but also socially responsible. We work with certified green mills and factories and our manufacturers are required to act responsibly and sustainably regarding people, the environment, and resources. We just expanded our ecoconscious efforts last December by launching a cactus bag collection made out of nopal (prickly pear) cactus, a leather like material. We also just unveiled a new collection of nylon handbags made out of recycled plastic bottles.
PXG Apparel is perfect for those on the go and is designed for the most versatile lifestyles. What kind of consumer do you have in mind when you’re designing the collections and how does that guide the design process?
PXG Apparel is designed for an active and social lifestyle. Our collections off er performance with a fashion-forward edge. I always have the customer in mind when I start the design process. We have observed the growing need in the market for sport fashion apparel and accessories – transitional pieces that optimize function, look great, and boost confidence. Our consumers are active and want to look good in any situation. It is all about balance and being able to offer quality products designed thoughtfully for their various endeavors.
