Fendi celebrates its Aventura Mall debut with a cultural note.

When it comes to store openings in retail-friendly Miami these days, a little something extra goes a long way. Perhaps that’s why the top brass at Fendi decided to join forces with the National YoungArts Foundation to introduce guests to its new boutique at Aventura Mall with a cocktail reception.

Hosted by Vanessa Leitman, Harry Woldenberg and Sari Azout Bakalarz, the evening attracted a mixed contingent of art lovers and fashionistas. Among those were TV presenter Candela Ferro, actor Khotan Fernández, stylist Elysze Held and Aventura Mall owner Jackie Soffer.

In addition to getting a peek at the new Fendi boutique and its men’s garments and women’s accessories, guests gathered in a lounge area furnished by Fendi Casa to enjoy the performance that was specially curated for the evening: a dance presentation by Jonathan Wade with singing by Marcelo Perez and Alyssa McDoom (all of whom are previous YoungArts winners). A portion of the proceeds from the evening’s sales went to YoungArts and its efforts and programs in supporting high-school students who want to pursue careers in the arts. If attendance and enthusiastic applause were any indication, Miami’s social set can expect more events like this in the months to come. -Photos by World Red Eye
