Retail Riches

| September 25, 2013 | Parties

Talk about setting the scene for things to come. To get the word out about its buzzy Fashionably Conscious fundraiser, a vintage sale of sorts where guests get to peruse (and buy) a variety of slightly used garments from the closets of Miami’s leading female philanthropists, Neiman Marcus at Village of Merrick Park hosted its semiannual Collection Party and Trend Event in one swoop. The occasion is mainly a reason for ladies who luxe to sip Champagne and talk fashion and accessories, as well as get a preview of the fall fashion collections. “And what’s wrong with that?” asked one particular glamazon, when her friend pointed this out. Nothing at all, we say. This year, NM didn’t disappoint fans of the event in the least. The retailer staged one of its largest runway shows to date, and models walked around the store showing off styles by Givenchy, Tom Ford, Balenciaga, Roland Mouret and Helmut Lang. The spirit of style was definitely in the air as regulars like Ali Codina, Iva Kosovic, Darlene PĂ©rez, Marcella Novela and Adrienne bon Haes mingled madly. “I can’t wait to rock all that leather I keep seeing,” said one spirited attendee. “I just hope the weather cooperates this year. Fashion is pain, but a nice cold front now and then wouldn’t hurt.” Photography by Manny Hernandez/
