It’s not every day that institutions celebrate their 150th, especially in Miami, a city that hit its own century mark a little more than a decade ago. But for Bacardi, a company that originated in Cuba and is headquartered in Coral Gables, there was no other place to commemorate said landmark. North America Regional President Robert Furniss-Roe and Facundo L. Bacardi, the great-great-grandson of the company’s founder, welcomed some 150 guests to do just that. A wall created from actual rum barrels welcomed attendees to the party before a montage of vintage advertisements from the 1900s reminded them of Bacardi’s heritage. Rum—neat, on the rocks or Cuba Libre style—was not in short supply, and neither were the imbibing A-listers, which included bold-face locals like Alex Rodriguez and Gloria and Emilio Estefan, and Hollywood types, including Ryan Phillippe and Minka Kelly. Here’s to 150 more. Photography by World Red Eye
