Sleep Deprivation

| August 25, 2011 | Parties

As if to make sure the whole city knew of its existence, hotelier Vikram Chatwal held three nights of parties for the opening of Dream South Beach (the latest jewel in the man’s boutique hotel portfolio)—all in the midst of Swim Week, no less. The weekend kicked off with a dinner at The Forge for select media and company management, where Chatwal revealed that the South Beach property is just one of many Dreams to come. The next evening brought a rooftop cocktail party at the nearby Webster boutique before a preview dinner at the hotel's restaurant, Tudor House, a concept from master chef Geoffrey Zakarian. Chatwal saved the best for last with a Saturday night opening party that featured everything from music sets by iPad DJs AndrewAndrew, bikini models in Marie Antoinette wigs and fire-breathing performers. As guests, among them Nicky Hilton, Maxwell, David Grutman and Laure Heriard Dubreuil, moved from lobby to rooftop, most couldn’t stop talking about the intense heat. "It's too hot," said Leandro Pisani. "I'm going back for another one of those Grey Goose popsicles." Photography by Seth Browarnik/World Red Eye
