Unveiling a brand-new spring 2023 exhibition lineup, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami continues to foster and encourage experimentation in contemporary art. Recognized internationally for its exciting calendar and programs, this season will stir up conversations for art patrons and novices alike. Must-see museum shows include Avery Singer’s Unity Bachelor, which features a trio of figures to reflect on identities created through animation and design software. Another exhibit is Denzil Forrester’s We Culture, which includes 20 paintings and drawings from Forrester’s early career. His exhibit features paintings portraying dub and reggae clubs and more somber artworks relating to the death of his friend and neighbor Winston Rose. Recognized as one of the most unique events of the season, the Be A Kid Again Gala held at the Ice Palace Studios encourages guests to embrace their inner child. Bringing together distinguished members of the Miami community, this popular event is a colorful extravaganza that works to raise funds to benefit the museum’s innovative educational programs directly. Hosted by Claudia Rodriguez, Oscar Rojas, and Kirk and Crystal Wagar, the night kicks off with a creative cocktail reception followed by a silent auction and a delicious buffet-style dinner, followed by plenty of dancing. With the night promising a colorful and fantastical journey, this must-attend event is bound to make any adult feel like a kid again.
