Joining the ranks of culinary greats Marc Vetri, Suzanne Goin, David Lentz, and Jonathan Waxman, acclaimed pastry chef Hedy Goldsmith, of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink will raise funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation when she bakes to battle childhood cancer at an event of her creation, Sweet Miami Lemonade, on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Hosted at the magnificent new Marlins Park, their talented team of chefs will prepare delicious treats paired with signature cocktails from Goldsmith’s debut cookbook, “BAKING OUT LOUD: Fun Desserts with Big Flavors” (Clarkson Potter) while attendees are granted access to four private suites on the VIP level.
After participating in previous culinary events to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer, Hedy Goldsmith wanted to introduce her home audience of Miami to the cause. With a new cookbook arriving on shelves, Goldsmith felt it was the perfect time to share desserts like Tangerine Creamsicle Pot De Creme and Buttered Popcorn Gelato to help move ALSF toward better treatments and cures for childhood cancers. The exclusive event will be limited to just 200 guests, with tickets priced at $150 per person. Additionally, exciting items will be available for guests to bid on throughout the evening.
