By the Numbers

| December 27, 2011 | Parties National

THE PARTY To celebrate one of the most hyped dates of last year’s calendar, Nov. 11, the Mandarin Oriental invited nearby residents and hotel VIPs to an evening beach soirĂ©e under the full moon. THE REASON Perfect venue, perfect evening and, oh, the little fact that feng shui masters all over the world believe Nov. 11, 2011 just happened to be the most auspicious date of the 21st century, a day when the pillars of heaven and earth were in complete balance. THE SCENE Guests lounged at the hotel’s beach area as an electric violin trio performed and dishes like Chinese roast duck and dim sum made the rounds. Photography by Seth Browarnik/World Red Eye
