With five thriving towns full of renowned restaurants, breathtaking scenery, world-class wineries and so much more, Napa Valley has endless natural wonders and luxurious offerings to explore. While it’s an easy escape for a weekend getaway, a longer trip allows you to maximize your experience. We put together an idyllic itinerary that takes you through the towns along the valley—from the “gateway to Napa Valley,” American Canyon, up to the wellness capital known as Calistoga—so you can make the most of your Napa Valley vacation.

Upon arrival, check in to a serene private villa or suite at the Bardessono Hotel and Spa in Yountville. Situated in the heart of Napa Valley, you’ll be centrally located to all the hotspots while enjoying luxurious amenities like the rooftop pool and b Spa. We recommend booking a car service for worry-free exploration throughout Napa Valley.Screenshot_2024-10-22_at_12_03_41_PM.pngNapa Valley visitors can take it easy at one of the luxurious resort pools.

Day 1: City of Napa & American Canyon

Now that you’ve settled into your home base, head 15 minutes down valley to the City of Napa for an al fresco lunch before gearing up to explore. Then, meander through the lively downtown’s innovative boutiques, curated vintage shops and designer outposts. If you're more into outdoorsy activities, head 15 minutes south to explore the region’s streams, wildlife and sweeping vistas at Wetlands Edge Park in American Canyon. Regardless of where your day takes you, refuel and expand your global palate through a Napa lens with dinner at Kenzo Napa, where you’ll indulge in authentic Japanese Kaiseki delicacies, harmoniously paired with eclectic sakes and wines from Napa Valley and beyond.

Day 2: Yountville

Wake up to a mouthwatering seasonal breakfast full of locally sourced ingredients from Bardessono’s acclaimed restaurant Lucy before heading out for your first full day of exploration. Book a tee time at one of Silverado Resort’s two picturesque championship golf courses (just 15 minutes south of Bardessono), or board an Aloft Hot Air Balloon ride (just a block from your resort) to soak in stunning sunrise views as you hover above wine country. End this unforgettable day with an equally memorable meal at Chef Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bistro—serving up delectable French fare just a short walk from your resort.

Day 3: St. Helena

You’ve now golfed, dined, hiked and even ballooned your way through three of Napa Valley’s unique towns, and today you cross another off the list: the upscale and culturally rich St. Helena. Drive less than 20 minutes north to grab breakfast and stroll through the city’s historic and charming Main Street. Pop into its local galleries, boutiques and, of course, esteemed wine-tasting rooms for sips along the way. Close out the evening with another memorable feast at The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil—be sure to grab a seat on the terrace to take in the stunning wine country vistas at this Michelin-starred eatery.

Day 4: Calistoga

Kick off your last day (for now) 30 minutes up valley. Recognized for its volcanic mud and hot springs, Calistoga is well-known around the world for its spa culture and wellness. Soak in all the benefits of the town’s natural elements with a mineral-rich mud bath at Dr. Wilkinson’s Backyard Resort or a dip in the hot springs pool at Golden Haven Hot Springs Spa. Now that you’ve adventured and revitalized, indulge in the ever-changing tasting menu of fresh, seasonal ingredients at Michelin-starred Auro, Executive Chef Rogelio Garcia’s debut fine dining concept at the nearby Four Seasons Resort Napa Valley.
