| May 2, 2014 | Calendar

“The Miami Underwater Festival presents a wonderful opportunity for anyone to learn more about the fascinating ocean, ocean life and much more that we in South Florida are so lucky to be near,” said Gillian Thomas, president and CEO of Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science.

Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science (formerly Miami Science Museum) is inviting the public to “dive into” its Third Annual Miami Underwater Festival on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, 2014. The festival is being held in celebration of the global World Oceans Day, which honors the body of water which links us all, for what it provides humans and what it represents.

On Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m.–6 p.m., the festival will take place at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science. All events on this day are free with paid museum admission.

The day’s activities will include: A variety of underwater films and photography showcasing marine conservation and sustainability, aquariums of all shapes and sizes, guests can learn to create their own aquarium and local diving stars Billy Catoggio and Mitch Herne of the popular TV show “Scuba Nation.” Guests can meet the stars, and watch an episode of the show.
