The redesigned Drawing Room at Vanderbilt Mansion in Fisher Island
All classics needs a new edition now and then. Well into its 102nd year, Vanderbilt Mansion at the Fisher Island Club looks better than ever after a sprucing up of its two main rooms. The top brass at the renowned venue tapped Adriana Hoyos to infuse her warm sophistication in the Snooker Club and the Drawing Room. Hoyos was inspired by the Vanderbilt’s family legacy and used furniture and accessories that are as appropriate now as they would have been back in their day. In the Snooker Club, deep blues and Bordeaux velvets with mustard yellow accents aptly complement the space’s jazz bar aesthetics. In the Drawing Room, shades of aqua and coral (what Hoyos calls “Floridian colors”) and handwoven textures denote comfort in a look that’s ideally suited for the room’s tea service. “The members absolutely love the vibrant, tasteful aesthetic Adriana created,” says Fisher Island Club President and CEO Bernard Lackner. “Everyone is talking about it.” 1 Fisher Island Drive, Fisher Island, 800.535.6000, fisherislandclub.com
