Viva Vuitton!

| November 21, 2012 | Parties

After many months of speculation and anticipation from the city, Louis Vuitton in the Design District finally opened its doors with a cocktail party that lived up to the expectations. Valérie Chapoulaud-Floquet, the brand’s North American president and CEO, welcomed a packed house that included some of Miami’s most influential tastemakers and power players. Among those perusing the footwear and bags worth small fortunes were Telemundo host Candela Ferro, model Ines Rivero, Design Miami/ Director Marianne Goebl and developer Craig Robins, who was instrumental in bringing LV to the neighborhood. As guests entered the store, the natural flow was toward the back to the shop’s “men’s universe,” where conversation and cocktails were plentiful. As the evening progressed, the party spilled outdoors to the front of the store beneath the graffiti mural by RETNA that marks the store’s façade. The artwork seemed to have the crowd divided: some loved its street art feel while others claimed it looked unfinished. Long after the celebration was due to end, the DJ keep spinning and the Champagne continued to pour… and just like that, a new Miami favorite was born.Photography by Seth Browarnik/World Red Eye
