Well Suited

The models so ubiquitous in town during Fashion Week Swim always inspire envy—what with their tight abs, long legs and perfect smiles. But a hotter-than-usual summer made that resentment a bolder shade of green this year. There we were, covered up in 98-degree-plus days, as they strutted up and down the runways in next to nothing. Ground Zero for all the activity was The Raleigh hotel, where Mercedes-Benz once again set up shop with its five days of catwalk spectacles by the likes of Lisa Vogel, Diesel, White Sands Australia, Poko Pano, Red Carter and Luli Fama. But there was plenty of strutting north of 17th Street as well. The W held its second annual Salon Allure event, and Brazilian swimwear was given its due at The Webster, where looks from Lenny, Vix, Cia.Maritima and Osklen had us dreaming of girls—and boys— from Ipanema.
