Miami welcomes the Mediterranean-Basque inspired Zeru, serving as the brand’s first international outpost.

As award-winning restaurants open in Miami, one new entry in particular brings inspired cuisine to the Brickell neighborhood. As part of Zeru’s international expansion, the Mexican-based and Mediterranean-Basque concept highlights seasonal fish and Josper-grill options delivering fine dining in the purest form.
Zeru, which means “heaven” in Basque, serves signature dishes inspired by the traditional cuisine of San Sebastian, a coastal city known as one of the top Michelin-starred destinations in Europe. With locations in San Ángel and Lomas de Chapultepec, Mexico, Brickell’s new eatery brings a taste of Basque dining to the city.

“Expert hot coal grilling, the beautiful and simple combination of wood, smoke and flame present since the beginning of gastronomy, is what gives meaning to our cuisine,” shares Israel Aretxiga, Zeru’s partner chef. “We apply the traditional techniques of the Basque asador to the finest ingredients to create a unique gastronomical experience of authentic flavors.”
Complete with a contemporary dining room, an outdoor terrace and a 20-seat bar, Zeru boasts well-orchestrated personalized service. The indoor and outdoor eatery features earthy materials and a white-and-blue color palette, creating an inviting and intimate area on the ground floor of the AKA Hotel.
