Celebrity-beloved Australian label Zimmermann opens the doors to its newest U.S. boutique in the Miami Design District.

Zimmermann’s latest phase of American retail expansion has its sights set on Florida with a highly anticipated new boutique in the Miami Design District, bringing the label’s beloved fresh breath of sophisticated style and femininity to the shopping and culture mecca.
The Design District storefront is just one of three locations opening doors in Florida—its first of the series most recently in Naples and a forthcoming opening in Tampa, adding on to the brand’s much loved Bal Harbour location. In total, the Australian brand will have 16 stores across the U.S. by summer.

Keeping with the label’s Australian roots, the Design District store is designed by Studio McQualter and is a physical embodiment of the Zimmermann brand: relaxed femininity and whimsy elegance.
The striking boutique spans 2,354 square feet and includes a mix of vintage furniture and lighting fixtures that have been selected to complement the light and airy contemporary space. The Australian artworks were curated to marry the brand’s ethos with the vibrant energy of Miami.
Inside the boutique, daylight is filtered by a screen wall designed specifically to evoke classic modernist Miami architecture. Flanking the store walls are panels made from reclaimed materials and large wall lights salvaged from a 1950s cinema in Paris to emphasize the height of the space. A metallic ceiling finish is reminiscent of the Warhol era with exposed ceiling structures, with classic terrazzo flooring to anchor the space.
To celebrate the opening, the label’s sister founders Nicky Zimmermann and Simone Zimmermann gathered friends and celebrities earlier this winter over a dreamy dinner at Mandolin Aegean Bistro for a proper welcome in their new neighborhood. 184 NE 40th St., Miami, zimmermann.com
